cannot access admin page 'Secure Connection Failed'/'unsupported protocol-Readynas Ultra 6

After reading the post dated 02/14/2022. I was successful in installing an older version of Firefox (v77.0) today on an older PC running Windows 7 64-bit. It does work to be able to access the admin page. I was wondering if anyone had a method to update the TLS version 1.0/1.1 to 2.0. If I can accomplish that, then I'd be able to access the admin page on Windows 10, my newer PC. Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated.

    There is more information here:

In the case of an Ultra-6, I would suggest conversion to OS-6 firmware.  If you go this route, I also suggest upgrading memory to 2 GB (or perhaps 2x2GB).

Though if you want to stick with 4.2.31 firmware, you can install the add-on described in the link above.  rnxtras.com no longer links to the add-on, but you can directly download it from here:

Note this updates TLS to version 1.2 - which will work with current browsers.  There is no such thing as TLS 2.0.

You could alternatively enable http access to the NAS by changing virtual.conf as described in the link above.  It is possible to do both (which would allow either http or https).

If I go the way of converting to OS-6, will I lose the current raid setup and will it wipe out all the files that I currently have on it?

Yes, when you upgrade to OS6, you'll have to manually re-configure the NAS (which isn't a lot for most users) and restore all your files from backup.  Yes, it's a lot of work, though hopefully you are keeping a backup already that will help with that, but IMHO it's worth it.
