Cannot Access ReadyNAS 2100 shares on a domain
Hi I'm using a ReadyNAS 2100 [X-RAID2] using RAIDiator 4.2.15 firmware. I have it set up to use ADS and it was working great. Whenever I try to browse to the NAS using windows explorer, I get "Window...

There should be some clues in the logs zip download.
Btw RAIDiator-x86 4.2.15 is extremely old firmware. We're up to RAIDiator-x86 4.2.31 now.
The very next firmware release after the one you're running, namely RAIDiator-x86 4.2.16 added support for disks larger than 2TB.

Hi mdgm,
It was working fine on that old firmware. Each disk in the nas is about 1TB. Would you still recommend updating the firmware?
I uploaded the logs to my dropbox here

I would backup your data before updating the firmware. The remote updates would show the recommended firmware update path.
There have been heaps of changes since the firmware you're running. I wouldn't recommend sticking on such old firmware.

I successfully updated to the latest firmware (RAIDiator 4.2.31) But I'm still unable to access any shares using CIFS. Is there anything else I can try?

Is your domain controller both forward and reverse resolveable in your DNS configuration? I have found that's a common reason why a domain join will fail on RAIDiator 4.x.

Hello dday1,
When it is not joined to the AD, it's normally set to Local Users / Users, are you not able to access any shares when that is how the NAS is set to? What error message do you get? Please post a screenshot.
Also, are the DC and NAS in the same subnet?

Hi JennC,
The Security Mode was always set to ADS. I've never changed it to Users. The DC and NAS are in the same subnet.

Hello dday1,
You have mentioned that you are having trouble joining it to the AD which i supposed you mean joining it again, then this means NAS is on Users mode, is that right? When it is on Users mode, can you get to the shares? How do you open it by the way, is it using \\nas_IP or \\hostname?
Regards,
