Cannot Access Some Folders in Share

RNAS 3312 Running 6.7.5

USB Attached drive share.  I can not access a couple of folders in the share.

I can browse to \\rnas-device-name\usb_HDD_1\directory\  in Windows but when accessing a couple of the folders I get the following:

     Windows cannot access \\rnas-device-name\usb_HDD_1\directory\...

You do not have permission to access \\rnas-device-name\usb_HDD_1\directory\... Contact your network administrator for access.

The USB contains a backup of users home directories but I am only getting the error on a couple.

  • Maybe eject it and attach it to a Windows PC. Then right click on the folder and reset the permissions and ownership.

Did you try resetting the file permissions (on the file access tab of the share settings)?

I did check that the File Access tab has a warning 'The feature is not supported for the selected share/device.'

  • Ejecting and reconnecting fixed the issue.  All folders in the share can now be accessed.
