Can't install RAIDiator-4.1.9
After three times trying to install the firmware RAIDiator-4.1.9, I have given up!
After rebooting there is an error message saying there was an error and the previous version is still active.
Luckily, the NAS still works!.
What's wrong?

- pugilaresAspirantI would like to go back from 4.1.9 to 4.1.8, but when I try I get error :-(
4.1.9 seems to be not the best firmware so far. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retireddbeugeling did it explain at all what the error was?
I suggest you open an online tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number. Post updates here on how your case proceeds.
pugilares you already have a thread on your issue (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=64262). No need to post in another thread that is not asking to downgrade the firmware about that. - pugilaresAspirantThis is not only me having problems with 4.1.9 firmware -> e.g. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=64230
I think maybe Netgear would be better withdrawing this firmware as an official release until problems are solved?
As I have already experienced to get back from 4.1.9 to 4.1.8 is not always easy.
That's why I feel obliged to warn someone before he makes a step into a time consuming problem. - hadeshorn9AspirantI am also a victim of this firmware upgrade, old NV+ but it has beena stable beast, hope they get this sorted out soon! Keep us posted if anything is discovered for recovery.
Thanks - OdleAspirantI have the same problem on my ReadyNAS DUO. When I let the ReadyNAS download and install, the log file mentions there was an error while downloading the update image. When I manually download the update image to my mac (OS X Lion, 10.7.4) and choose the local update function, the check of the file shows no problems, however, when I choose to update the system, I get an error message as well referring to a wrong checksum. The error message is in Dutch: "Ongeldige checksum gedetecteerd in het updatebestand. Update afgebroken". This translates as "Invalid checksum detected in update file. Update canceled." I tried download + update with both Safari and Firefox.
I have a standard DUO on 4.1.8 with two 2GB drives installed which mirror each other. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen did you purchase the Duo Odie? This error either suggests that the file was not downloaded correctly or that the OS partition on the NAS is very full.
If you download the logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs), what does disk_usage.log look like? - OdleAspirantHi mdgm,
I purchased the Duo some time ago, December 21st, 2008.
This is what the disk_usage.log looks like:Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdc1 2.0G 2.0G 3.0M 100% /
tmpfs 16k 0 16k 0% /USB
/dev/c/c 1.9T 674G 1.2T 37% /c
/dev/sda1 463G 382G 82G 83% /USB/<drivenamedeleted>
According to diagnostics.log, the root filesystem is a bit full, which seems to confirm the probable cause you mentioned:Volume
-------------------------------
* The root filesystem is very full (8MB free). It is likely there are errors occurring with an installed addon or an errant backup job.
