can't upgrade or reboot ?

Hi,, been using a Readynas Pro 6 with fw; 4.2.20-T19 for a while,
thought I'd update to 4.2.20-T23 but that doesn't seem to work for me.
Download the updated, uploaded it to the readynas, applied it and got the message
"please reboot to continue the upgrade" ( or something like that..)

But, here's were it fails. It doesn't reboot. Also tested by accessing it through ssh,
but that just closes my putty window without any info if Im using the right user/pass.
If using the the wrong pass, I can try again...but with the right one, it closes.

So, did a power-off through the power-button on the unit which did a successfull
clean shutdown. Started it again and Im still at FW 4.2.20-T19 so the T23 havent kicked in.
Another intresting note; Looking at status/log's it states; no logs exists !

So, unit's working still, but with somewere around 6 TB data, I dont want to mess upp
and, doing a backup "to be safe" is probably 2-3 days work.

addition;
Pressed the "download all logs" ; all I got was a blank page with;

<payload>Empty No Support</payload>

    So have you installed EnableRootSSH? If so are you making sure you are trying to connect as the 'root' user? If you haven't installed EnableRootSSH you won't be able to SSH in.

    You still have the issue with Frontview if you clear your web browser cache (e.g. Temporary Internet files)?

    Perhaps try an OS Re-install: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu

    P.S. In future, please post about problems you encounter with beta firmware releases in the beta forum.
  • Hi,, wasn't thing about this as a beta post,,, but off course it should have been..,, sorry..
    Trying frontview from different PC's = same result.

    Yes, enablerootssh was installed, but won't let me in now.
    So,, seems like somethings gone wrong with the fw update.
    Frontview and data still ok otherwise which is GR8,
    but, reboot = no, ssh = no, logs = no, so somethings not 100% ....

    Might be os re-install needed or maybe reverting to T19 update ?

    Thanks !
  • Well,, strange thing;

    I've got 2 Readynas 6bay's here; 1 the pioneer edition, the other standard pro edition.
    Both had t19 beta, the pro pioneer works 100% with the T23 update, the standard pro does not.

    Doing an update of the pro/pioneer, after the UL and then the apply firmware, there's a slight pause
    before the prompt to reboot to continue the update process.
    On the stndrd/pro box, it goes from apply to "please reboot" in an instant...after a reboot,
    nothings changed. So, at least Im back with a unit that can reboot,etc, but T23 simply wont add to it.
