Change file system permissions via web interface?

Hi I have a ReadyNAS Pro 2 (RNDP2000). Is it possible to change the file file system permissions of a folder via the web interface?

I'm using a Windows PC to access a share which I currently have read/write access to, but when I try to create/edit a file in a particular subfolder it gives an access denied error.

  • Go into the share settings, and then click on the CIFS icon.  There will be an "advanced options" tab on the upper right - click that.

Enter the user/group you want to own the files (nobody/nogroup works), and then set the file and folder permissions as desired.

Right under that pane there are two checkboxes:

    • Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings...
    • Grant rename and delete privileges to non-owner of files.

Make sure both are checked, and then click on "apply" on the bottom right.  The permissions are reset in the background, there will be a popup when it completes.  It should also be logged.
