As I mentioned in my 1st post I Tested it to Win 7 AND Win 10 and Server 2003
I did more test:
RN204 to/from share (cifs, Windows/NAS Timestamp) full backup/incremental on client with OS:
Windows 7 Pro x64 - 2PC
Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - 1PC
Windows 10 Pro x64 - 1PC
Windows XP Pro - 1PC
Windows Server 2003 - 1PC
SMB3 encryption on or off - no change.
If I remeber correctly Windows XP/ Server 2003 uses SMB1 (so SMB3 encrytption is on these client irelevant)
All OS above is result the same, seem to independent of version OS (Windows)

SMB3 Transport Encryption setting IS - apparently - NOT set (blank, not Enabled, not Disabled, not Required...simply blank) on all the NAS's shares my NAS has.
So IMHO this issue can't be directly related to a (new) setting - SMB3 Transport Encryption - that has a default post-update configuration pre-share value common on all existing NAS's shares...and that value, as written, is "blank".
Global SMB Settings on my ReadyNAS 314 are actually - on ReadyOS 6.9.0 - as before (since I didn't touched anything before the update):
Backup destination (CIFS Share on NAS) SMB Advanced settings:

I add this log line (taken from /var/log/frontview/status.log) which suddenly showed up after the update to ReadyOS 6.9.0 and with regard to the next backup job scheduled for that day (as written above: and valid only for CIFS on Windows Server to CIFS on NAS jobs):
