Complete data loss - All volumes disappeared
Out of the blue, I started receiving a report from my File Sync application that it couldn't access data on my ReadyNAS202.
Attempts to access data through Windows File Explorer were met with "Windows cannot access \\NAS-2\sharename".
Traced the problem to ReadyNAS reporting through the Admin web page that there were NO volumes on the unit.
Where did all my data go???? I have attached a screen print. Also, the logs do not tell me anything - ALL GREEN!
Luckily I should be able to recover the data because I have been backing it up through IDrive to the cloud. BUT.......do I want to rely on a "secure" repository that can eat my data without any warning.

Please send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig).

kernel.log suggests that there's a filesystem problem on your system (you can see this if you filter that log for lines mentioning btrfs). After the problem started you ran volume maintenance on the system which isn't a good idea when the filesystem is in that state.

So it sounds like I have to re-build the volume, shares and put the data back.
My questions is what should I have been doing to detect something like this happening. I have Disk Test, Balance & Scrub scheduled to occur regularly. I also watch for any logs that get e-mailed to me, in case they are sounding the alarm.
What else? I don't want this to happen again.
