Hello MGalle,
You must mean upgrading ReadyCloud to myNetgear. ReadyCloud accounts are the old accounts used for accessing ReadyNAS devices remotely via readycloud.netgear.com portal and ReadyCloud apps, and since Single Sign-On has been implemented, all ReadyCloud accounts needed to be upgraded to myNetgear accounts. Also, the latest firmware 6.5.0 use myNetgear accounts not ReadyCloud accounts. ReadyCloud access to NAS is no longer available to lower firmware versions, therefore, old ReadyCloud accounts can no longer be used on ReadyCloud portal and apps as they are all now asking for the myNetgear account.
We need you to be clear with message you posted first for us to know what exactly happened, what exactly is the issue and what could have caused it. I have some questions too, I've summarized them below:
- What is the current firmware version of your NAS?
- How did you create ReadyCloud account when you mentioned you created one to access this forum?
- When did you exactly turn on ReadyCloud from the admin page? Have you been using ReadyCloud since you bought this NAS?
- Do you have access to the admin page now?
- If not and this is where you get the login screen, have you tried using the admin account that you should be using since first day of using this NAS? Admin account is admin for username and password by default is password but you must have changed it when you initially installed the NAS through the setup wizard.
- How do you usually access files stored to your NAS volume?
Looking forward to the answers.
Welcome to the community!

Hi JennC
I had an email sometime ago from Netgear to upgrade my account which I ignored until now - when I tried to do it the instuctions on the first web page were covered up and I created an account. I think I created a NetGear Ready Cloud password from the link from the email sent to me and then to another page which wanted an account setting up. This forum accepts that password. I will try and find the exact web address of these pages if necessary.
I downloaded Readycloud setup –V1.8.1220 from the NetGear website and used that to see the NAS on my computer.
The ‘admin’ and ‘password’ worked and I logged onto the admin page – Firmware 6.2.5 and is asking if I want to upgrade. (I have not so far.)
I have put data on the NAS which is using a 4tb Red WD drive. (This data is a just copied from my harddrive as a backup.) It is currently plugged directly into the router (I am not currently using a USB cable from the NAS to the PC.)
Hope I have answered all your questions.
Many thanks

Hello MGalle,
Are you going to use ReadyCloud? ReadyCloud is for accessing your NAS shares remotely. If you are going to use it then you need to update to 6.5.0 firmware as ReadyCloud will be available to 6.5.0 and not anymore to older versions.

My login password is for a MyNetGear Account - the ReadyNas 102 is not associated with this account.
When I go to http://readycloud.netgear.com/client/en/welcome.html on this page I cannot setup the ReadyNas as it is not found. I can find the ReadyNas using Raidar and have upgraded the firmware and can login using the admin/password but this is not a properly setup - ReadyCloud account.
So I can not migrate the ReadyCloud account to a Mynetgear Account using the instructions after you click on sign in. I seemed to have set-up a username and password for a MyNetGear Account but the ReadyNas is not associated with it?
Any ideas as to what I should do?
