Consumed space wrong after rollback
I have a backup share on a RasyNas running the curent firmware (6.7.5)
This contains around 50GB of backups (which come from another ReadyNAS via rsync).
I made a silly mistake and set up a new rsync backup to this same share, which copied the new data to the share, but wiped out everything else. Fortunately this was easily resolved by rolling back the share to the most recent shapshot. (Saved me a day or two of re-syncing the entire original backup over broadband)
However, once this was done the consumed space on the main Shares screen dropped to 0. It is now at 1.1GB, which I suspect is just the changes that have been syncronised to the share since the rollback.
Is there a way I can get the consumed space to be correct again?

I disabled and re-enabled quotas but now all the shares are showing 0 (including one with no snapshots) :smileysad:
I've also ran a scrub and rebooted but that's made no difference. I'd rather not delete all snapshots unless I have to.
Not that it's critical I know how much space each share is using, but it's pretty useful.
So far performing a rollback has messed up space reporting, and so has disabling/re-enabling quotas.. The whole thing seems a bit buggy really...

How about trying Balance?
What is balancing?
The ReadyNAS file system not only stores the user data, it also stores additional information related to that data, called metadata. Either data is stored in a number of fixed size storage areas called chunks which are reserved by the file system when new data is stored. In normal operation a chunk reserved for user data cannot be converted to hold metadata, even when the chunk becomes empty again. Therefore, a progression from a high number of large files to a higher number of small files stored on the ReadyNAS can lead to a shortage of available metadata chunks. This can lead to a situation where the ReadyNAS device will report that is has run out of disc space even when enough space seems to be available. Running the balance function will combine half-filled chunks and free empty, previously assigned chunks for reuse with either user data or metadata.
Should I use balancing regularly?
Since balancing requires some storage space to move files it should not be postponed until the available storage space is almost consumed completely. The balancing function will be most effective after a large number of files have been deleted or if there has been a transition from generally large files to smaller files. Especially the latter is hard to monitor, therefore balancing should be run at regular intervals.

Perhaps start by deleting all remaining snapshots for the share.
If that doesn't help, try running a balance from the volume settings wheel.

You could also disable quotas on the volume and then re-enable them. It may be that a quota rescan is all that's needed.
