Copying from ReadyNAS 102 to Ubuntu Server - Connection Timed Out
I've been able to Rsync backup to my Readynas for the past few weeks, I decided to upgrade the drives in my Ubuntu Server, last night I connected to my Readynas from the Server using SMB to copy the data back over.
The problem is once it starts to copy, different folders/file pop up saying "Error while copying, connection timed out" with the option to skip them.
I have tried lowering the MTU on the Readynas and the Server to 1492 but that hasn't helped matters.
Is there anything else that I can do? Otherwise I'll have to transfer the data using an external disk.
Cheers!

Hello superandy07,
Is the Ubuntu server connected directly to the same switch/router where the NAS is? Do you have any apps running on the NAS at the same time when backup is running? Please post the ReadyNAS firmware version too.

Hi JennC
It's currently set up like this :Server > Airport Extreme > Unmanaged Switch > ReadyNAS
There's no apps running that I'm aware of, would the anti-virus count?
The firmware is 6.4.1
Cheers

There is a known issue with the anti-virus service at the moment. You could try disabling the anti-virus service and see what difference that makes.

So all of the data copied over successfully, the last question I have is with Rsync.
If I'm to switch this back on, am I better starting with formatting the drives in my Readynas, or should I carry on from the older state on Readnas?
Just don't to screw up my data :smileyembarrassed:

I see no reason to reformat the drives. What are you concerned about?
