Deleting Snapshots - ReadyNAS102

Hi Everyone,

I noticed that i was running out of disk space on my ReadyNAS, and when i checked i found that Snapshots were taking up over 2TB.

I went into the settings for that folder, and noticed this.

So even though the folder thinks there's over 2TB of Snapshot data, the number of snapshots is zero.  If i look at the timeline i also don't see any Snapshots.  Also, if i navigate to the snapshots folder it's empty.

These are the settings...

(Note : I changed the snapshot schedule to Never in the hope i could reclaim the space. It was set to weekly before that).

So my question is : Where is this data hiding, and how can i delete it to reclaim the space?

Cheers,

Andy

Your snapshots were not upgraded when you updated to 6.2.4 back in July last year.

As a result they are not showing up in the UI.

I have sent you a PM.

      Hi Erwin,

I 'solved' it by copying all the files to another location, and doing a factory reset on the drive.

Then set everything up again, and copy the files back.

      cheers,

In your case the problem was different erldumlao. It seems that deleting one of your snapshots might have failed for some unknown reason.

erldumlao, please run a balance on your volume and then once that has completed run a defrag.

I would suggest scheduling a defrag and balance to run weekly (at different times). You should schedule these to run at times when the NAS is being used lightly.
