Disk reuse after factory default

I am using ReadyNAS RN316.

There was some problem occurs ,so I remove the 6 disk(raid5 array created) then factory default.

Factory default success and restart.

However if I push the 6 disks back to the trays, RN316 starts formating automatically or ditects the array same as before????

  • Factory default without disks inserted does nothing, OS is installed on the disks so if you perform factory default without them then nothing happen.

If you insert the disks and boot up normally it will be no different to what the system was like before. What issue are you trying to troubleshoot? Do note that factory default also deletes all data when performed properly.
