DNS Failure Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ V2
Hi,
I'm running RAIDiator 5.3.10 on a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ V2 and all seems well. I just happen to check the Information Log and noticed that there were a few events it had not notified to me by SMTP email. Now I KNOW this was working because I've checked it a few times.
Further investigation showed that the NAS was doing a DNS look-up to the first configured DNS server and getting a "request refused" back from the DNS server 217.72.162.2. And that was it. The NAS didn't understand the error message and didn't move on to the next configured DNS server at all. Not good.
I've changed the first configured DNS server and now the email works fine.
Anyone else have this problem/a problem sending emails which once worked and stopped for no apparent reason?
Anyone know why the NAS behaves this way, and how to fix it please?
