Does ReadyNAS OS implement SMB 3.1.1?

My client software has just been upgraded to accept SMB 3 connections. I was wondering what protocol level of SMB is supported in ReadyNAS and where it is displayed. I'm running 6.9.3 stable release.

  • Hi Laudz

ReadyNAS OS 6 supports SMB protocol 3.0 by default.

Information regarding this might not be available in the GUI but if you are comfortable with SSH then members might be able to add tips on checking this.

Here is a link to the information I provided regarding the default protocol used by OS 6 Units.

    SMB Plus

    Hope this helps!

    Regards!

If you download the logs and look in packages.log you'll see the version of the samba package that we're using. You can also find this in the GPL

Note we do backport some changes from newer samba versions and from time to time update the package to a newer version.

SMB 3.1.1 support was added way back in samba 4.3.0 as stated in the Samba 4.3.0 - Release Notes
