Does RSync delete files in destination
Hi guys, thanks for taking teh time to read this and for your advice
My very quick question is as follows:
If I'm backing up data from ReadyNAS A to ReadyNAS B via RSync, will deleted files is B also be deleted in A in subsequent backups or is it always incremental?
Thank you
Andre

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDepends whether you check the option in the backup job properties to delete the deleted files on the source on the destination as well or not.
What version of RAIDiator are you running? - I didn't notice that option...
I'm running RAIDiator 4.1.8 on Sparc (NV+)
AAAaaah, so that's what "Remove deleted files on target" means.... Duh! ;) - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes.
- rdorianAspirantJust for those looking for a solution to this on the new ARM platform (NV+ V2 and DUO V2), this option isn't avaiable in Firmware 5.3.5 (latest version). Hopefully it'll come along soon.
- basil11AspirantWell, it's almost the end of the year and I'm fed up waiting for the rsync delete option. I've decommissioned my ReadyNAS NV+ V2 and replaced it with a HP N40L and N54L both running FreeNAS 9.2. Lots of options available with rsync. Have retained my two ReadyNAS Duo's as these at least support Rsync delete. I'm unlikely to purchase ReadyNAS devices in future due to the limited functionality and poor ongoing support.
