E-Mail Alerts
I have configured my NAS to send e-mail alerts and tested fine, but it is not saving my password? not sure if this has happenned with the new beta 2 release that I have installed today? RN314

When you try sending a test message without entering the password it will fail, but the message will be in the email queue and get sent when it tries again using the saved credentials.
Though the password field shows as blank in the UI, the password you saved previously is still saved.

Are you sure that it is not saving the password?
The password field under System > Settings > Alerts is showing blank for me too, but the password is saved.

Positive, when I enter in the password and click Send Test message and Apply it is successful and after that I get another box saying A test message was sent, clicking ok a little box spins around for a few seconds and the password has dissapeared and when I Send Test message again with empty password box it says (attached)

I think you should get email alerts when they are sent provided the password you entered before you last applied the changes was correct.
The Test Message may only be sent if you manually enter the password in the UI.- claytonbMar 24, 2016Aspirant
OK, I'll shutdown the NAS and see if it emails me an alert!!

Ok, it emailed me saying the system is shutting down.
But what is bizarre is when I sent a test email without a password and it failed, I still got an email saying the test had failed lol
