Echange ReadyNAS Duo v2 to ReadyNas Remote
Hi
I am still using ReadyNas Remote to access my NAS units. I recently acquired a new ReadyNas Duo V2 and would like to add this to the three units which I can see. However I cannot seem to be able to do this. Does anyone know how to achieve this now.
To all Netgear people - Please don't reply that ReadyNas remote and the ReadyNas Duo V2 are obsolete - I know they are! - but I'm not wasting my money to upgrade as there are some workarounds such as Tem Viewer which I could use if pushed. However, I would like to continue as long as I can with ReadyNAs remote.
Thanks
Tony
Hi TonyKoral
ReadyNAS Remote is already discontinued you may want to try creating a VPN Connection like what is done on this post.
If upgrading is not your option, setting up VPN might be the best option to try.
Hope this helps!

It' not just obsolete, it's actually discontinued.

- Customers will not be able to remotely access the ReadyNAS using ReadyNAS Remote service, including web admin interface, and sharing
- Customers will not be able to create ReadyNAS Remote Accounts (used for ReadyNAS Remote and ReadyNAS Replicate) once the ReadyNAS Remote service is discontinued (existing accounts can continue to be used with ReadyNAS Replicate till that service is discontinued)
Since this was effective Sept. 2017, I am surprised you can still use remote at all. This might be linked to the extension for the Replicate service. But as it also says, you can't create new remote accounts.
So you'll need to switch to another method. Teamviewer works (as does Google's remote desktop and VNC). Many routers support OpenVPN, so that is another avenue.
