Edge/explorer security warning

When I access my ReadyNAS through windows Edge browser on my PC I get the following message:

This site is not secure

This might mean that someone’s trying to trick you or steal any information that you send to the server. You should close this site immediately.

Go to your Start page

Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA

I can ignore the message and access the NAS but how do I stop the message from always coming up?

Chrome also came up with a warning but only the first time i used it to access the NAS

    Hi Nigelgf

You can use Firefox as other members have advised since you can set a permanent exception for the NAS and avoid getting the same message. You can also install Self Signed Certificate on Chrome and IE/Edge in order to avoid getting this message every time you access the NAS Admin page.

Installing a Certificate on Google Chrome for ReadyNAS OS 6

IMO, ignoring it and clicking through is just fine but I would also go with Firefox if I'm accessing the NAS Admin page.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

It will recur from time to time even in Chrome.  You can store a security exception in Firefox, which will be persistent.

You can try storing the NAS certificate in your PC's trusted root store, but that might just give you a different security warning.

The underlying issue is that the NAS certificate is self-signed, so the PC can't verify that the NAS is what it claims to be.
