Encryption failed

Hello, I have a problem to encrypt RN 102. "System" "Volume" displays "X-Raid" in green colour and buttoms "new volume" and "format" are in grey colour and could not be pressed.

By pressing buttom "X-Raid" information "do you want to change to Flex-Raid" displays. But by pressing ok only the colour from buttom "X-Raid" change from green to grey.

But I need to come into the option to create a new volume for to have the option to encrypt it.

What is my mistake? I simply installed HD's and made factory reset.

Any help is welcome!

(Sorry for my bad english. I am native german speaker living in Switzerland)

Best regards

Winfried

When the colour is grey, you are in Flex-RAID.  So it is possible.

The next step is to destroy it (done with the volume settings wheel).

If I understand you correctly, you want to create a new encrypted volume.

So you'd switch to flexraid, and then destroy your current volume.  Then create a new encrypted one.

    • Thank you very much Stephen,

unfortunately it is not possible to switch from X-RAID to Flex-RAID. Bottom X-Raid only change the colour from green to grey. It is not possible to press "new volume" or "format". Because of that it is also not possible to encrypt the drive. Even factory reset and new formatting of HD's did not help.

Any idea what can cover the problem?

      Best regards
