Factory Reset of ReadyNAS Duo 2 - RND2110-200EUS

Hi,

I lost my password and am trying to undertake a Factory reset. I held the reset and while starting it. All lights are now steady-on the fromt (non are blinking). And it's just sitting there for hours and there doe not appear to be any disc activity? The fan is going  Is this to be expected or has something gone wrong? RAIDar is also not detecting the device.

Many thanks

Matt

Normally you'd do an OS reinstall for this (which doesn't destroy your data).

It's not just about the reset button.  You are part-way through the sequence, the system is waiting for you to select the boot option.  The process for your NAS is on pages 16-17 here:  http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/ReadyNAS_Duov2_NV+v2_HW_en_23-Mar-12.pdf

After you start up holding the reset button, you select the boot option mode (pressing the backup button while looking at various LEDs).  Then press/release the reset button again.

As noted above, an OS reinstall would preserve your data, and set the NAS admin password back to password.

Thank you very much for your guidance, the OS reinstall worked fine and I'm up and running again.
