What firmware are you running? What disk temps and system temps are you seeing?
- Mij2016Sep 13, 2016Aspirant
Hi,
Firmware is version 6.1.7
The CPU temperature is currently 74 degrees.
The 2 hard drives are 47 degrees.
Thanks

That is very old (current firmware is 6.5.2).

That sounds high to me. I currently see 36-37 C for the drives and 49 C for the system temp. My drives are WDC reds, which do run cool though. What disks are you using?
With these temps It seems plausible that the fan warning is real. I'm not sure if the system will ignore the fan warning on reboot though.
The hardware warranty is 3 years btw - so you might want to double-check the warranty status. RN100 series sales began in 2013, so it is possible you are out-of-warranty if you bought right after launch. But if you never upgraded the firmware, you should still be covered by warranty (6.1.7 was released in April 2014).
