Files corrupted, my files are corrupted.

I've just purchased a Ready Nas DUO v2 and I plugged two WDC WD10EARX of 1TB and I setup a FlexRaid configuration.
My surprise was that a few days after copying all my photos, music and videos some photos files were not shown.
I did a binary comparison with the original files (that fortunately in this case I kept) and there were differences !!!. Although the file sizes were the same.

After I compared videos and music and the same problem, I found some files with differences. Unfortunately I did not kept the original files so I lost information !!!!!.
I did tested some large (50Gb) copies of many files operation from my Windows 7 PC HD and I could reproduce the problem again.

I'm really disapointted of this product. It is not acceptable that a copy/move operation end successfully leaving files differences.

The firmware version seems to be up to date (5.3.8)

Regards

Are you seeing any SMART errors on the drives (or errors in the Duo V2 logs)?

How did you do the copying? Is your network WiFi or wired?
  • Hi Stephen, thanks for your response.

I've checked the system logs (disk_smart_2013_06_03.log) and I could not see any error. I copy below.
The Ready NAS is cable connected through a switch to the PC where I copy the files.

    Regards

Perhaps you should run the memory test boot option.
  • Dear mgdm, thanks for your suggestion.

I've did a memory test following the hw manual instructions and selecting the memory test configuration from the boot menu: Power LED and disk 2 LED illuminate.

After this test that take few hours I could not see any error or suspicious message in the system logs.
The problem persists and I'm wondering what else I can do. I'm considering to set up to whole thing from Flex Raid to Raid 0.
