Firefly incompatible with iTunes 10.5
I updated to iTunes 10.5 today. Unfortunately whilst I can see my Firefly libraries as shared libraries in iTunes I can no longer connect to them.

- cruisingyachtAspirantNo problems here... running the latest iTunes server 1.0.3 installed on a Duo v2 running 4.1.8, and iTunes 10.5.1 on a Mac. iTunes server shows up in the 'Shared' section of iTunes and all files were scanned and are playing properly. It is important to configure the correct file location string in Firefly, and it took me a couple of gos to work out the string (/c/itunes/Music/iTunes). Maybe I was just lucky? Anyone know how to why album artwork doesn't show up? And it would be nice to have a script or something to direct iTunes to connect to the server automatically on launching the application - but as I read on another post somewhere, iTunes server is misnomer. It's really just a share point, rather than an all-out server.

Looks like you're not using the default path to store your Music. If using the Music folder on the media share it would have discovered your Music automatically.
Firefly has its limitations. It does not share Album artwork. As for getting iTunes to connect to the server when iTunes launches, I don't know if that's possible. - cruisingyachtAspirant

Hey mdgm thanks for the post - crikey how stupid are Netgear? I genuinely thought I had purchased a Duo v2. It even says ReadyNAS Duo RND 2000 Duo v2 on the bottom of the unit. No wonder I couldn't upgrade the firmware to 5.3.2!
The naming strategy for this company's products would have to be one of the most unnecessarily confusing and dumb arrangements I have ever seen. For it to be necessary for a (very helpful I must say) third-party enthusiast to post an explanation is indicative of the company's stupidity.
I'm angry, but grateful for your clarification.
Cheers! - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen did you purchase it? If recently and your reseller accepts change of mind returns you may wish to return it.
