Frontview http security

Hey there,
Is there anyway to lock down access to the frontview frontend.
I am thinking something like .htaccess.
I wanna make sure only i can configure and access my NAS.
I live it a house with a few people i dont know too well and wanna make sure only my machine can access my nas to everyone else it doesn't exist.
Would be good to setup a firewall on the nas and restrict access that way.
Can anyone shead some light.

It is password protected, shouldn't that be enough?

If not, how about connecting all your devices to your own router, connecting the WAN link to the house router. Then you can set up your own access policies (though you are trusting them not to rewire, physically reset the NAS via the front panel, etc).
  • Well that would require purchasing a router and configuring it.
I only have a laptop and my nas and it will be cheaper and easier to lock down my nas.
It would be good if i could install iptables or something on the NAS and firewall out everyone but my machine out.

And the password protection is good and it is a good layer of security.
But everyone know that the best defenses is multiple layers of security.

I just want it to ignore everything except 192.168.1.x :-)
