Going from 2 drives to 4
So i just got my ReadyNas NV+ V2. Installed the first 2 drives last night got it all working no problem. It shows as X-Raid2 1.8TB of space (2x2TB drives) got my other 2 drives tonight and put them in, it passed the drive test but it does not add them to the array. Still just says X-RAID2 (Redundant) 1.8TB It should be 3 useable 2TB drives 1 parity drive right? How do I make this work?

- vandermerweMasterHow did you add the 2 additional (presumably 2TB) drives? Did you cold add them (with the NAS off) or did you hot add them, and if so did you add one at a time, waiting for each to resync before adding the next?
What does the dashboard say about the volume?
You don't say how long you have waited, but you should expect it to resync for about 10 hours for each disk before each is added to the array. - dignamAspirantI powered the NAS off and then added the 3rd and 4th 2TB drives to it. Then powered it back on. On the NAS itself the LED is blank. Dashboard says X-RAID2 (Redundant) if I hover over the little info marker it shows a picture of the 4 drive bays and only the first 2 are lit up, unlike in RAIDar where all 4 are lit up. It has been about 30 hours.

- dignamAspirantOk decided to reboot the system, this time I immediately got an e-mail alert...
"Volume expansion started. Do not interrupt the system during this time. When finished, email notification will be sent to the alert contact list."
This never occurred last time. Hopefully all will be good once it runs its course.
