Hardware Change 2100 -> Pro 4

Hi,

a few month ago I took my RN 2100 from Datacenter home. Its nice, but the noise is ugly.
Now I have the chance to change the case by installing the 2100 at a customers site and get a new Pro 4.

If I take the Disks from my 2100 and put it in the Pro4, in the same order, will my Data be kept? (and/or: how shure is that?)

Chris

    It would work fine taking disks from 2100 (4-bay rackmount) and putting in the Pro 4.

    Do ensure both units are running the same firmware version before doing the migration. You can use a spare disk (must not be from your array) to make sure the firmware is up to date on the Pro 4. If Pro 4 has old firmware relative to 2100 installed the migration may fail.

    I would suggest you ensure your backup is up to date (you should do this regularly anyway)

    OK - good Idea (the sparedisk)

    I always have. 8)

    I'll tell how it went when done.
