How To Fix POWER ISSUE, ReadyNAS Duo V2 RND2000 - MUST READ!

OK - I can understand that basically.
But the remaining question is: As an end user - how can I decide, if I have to repeat the firmware update? My previous understanding was, if I see 5.3.5 on the admin interface of my unit and I don't receive any error messages that 5.3.5 is installed completely. Not partly 5.3.5 and partly the previous firmware.
How can I tell if I have to repeat the firmware update? If I stumble across that fact weeks later, because something is just not working as it should, this leads simply to mistrust in the update process. I do not believe that this is the direction where NETGEAR is heading for?!?!
This is something that I'm just not used to from my past experience with ReadyNAS. And browsing some other threads I am currently not the only one dealing with these doubts...
