This has happened to me as well and now I will have to return the item and get a replacement.
I updated the firmware as soon as I got the unit but it appears not to have updated 'completely', it is a daft state of affairs, you'd think there would be some warning on the dashboard like..you've just updated to .5 but due to the power on issue it is necessary to re-apply the firmware, otherwise no-one knows, I understand this is an area of the BIOS not normally updated but a warning is still necessary.
Annoying! Luckily I bought from Amazon so returns are a piece of cake.
