How to stop a resync
All ...
I have a ReadyNAS duo v1 on which I started a resync, with a data drive and an "empty" disk. My error, of course, was to load the "empty" in bay 1 and the data disk in bay 2. When I discovered my error, I switched the disks, putting the data in bay 1 and the "empty" in bay 2. The resync continued, but now it was loading bay 2 ("empty") into bay 1 (data). I turned off the NAS, to avoid losing any further data.
How do I stop the NAS from continuing with the resync. Can I, somehow, "clear" the "empty" drive, putting it back into a very blank state. I presume the "empty" disk was loaded with NAS instructions to be the "feed" drive, regardless from which bay.
If I can not "clear" the "empty" drive, can I use a really "fresh" and empty drive, load it in bay 2, my data disk in bay 1, and will the NAS then automatically start to resync from "load" to "empty"?
Thank you.
Hi Knorske,
Which RAID is running in your existing volume (data drive)? Turn off the NAS and remove both disks. Put back the data drive where it was originally slotted into and boot it up. If it loads up fine with your data and Frontview being accessible, add the 2nd disk (clean) then wait for the resync process to complete.
Kind regards,
