I wish you could do that, but no. In my case it does no harm, since the RN102 isn't big enough to back up the entire Pro anyway (the backup is split across multiple NAS). But it would be better if local and remote options were fully symmetric.

With the daily interval, they are created at midnight on my system. If the NAS is down at midnight, a new snapshot is not created... I'm not sure if the backup itself creates a snapshot or not.
So you might want to coordinate the interval with the power-on schedule to ensure they are created. For instance, create them hourly, start the NAS at 6 am and make sure it is left up for more than an hour after the backup completes (or before it starts).
Yes, I really like that feature. I hope OS6 backup jobs get it soon.
