Install Symantec Backup Exec after Factory Reset
ReadyNAS 4200 running 4.2.26 and previously had Symantec Backup Exec 13.0.5204.1 add-in installed
Last Friday I had to do a Factory reset after putting in new larger hard drives. Before doing the reset, I backed up the configuration. After the reset I restored the configuration. Everything is working except the Backup Exec addin. If I look at installed add-ins, nothing is listed. If I upload and verify the image, that succeeds but when I go to install I get an error message stating "Installation of this add-on conflicts with an existing service. Aborting installation."
Anybody know what I need to do to get this working again?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWhat you are supposed to do is reinstall the add-ons before restoring the configuration. The configuration references the missing add-ons, which gets everything confused.
At this point you can unzip your configuration file, and edit services.conf - removing all references to addons. Use notepad++ (NOT notepad) because you need to preserve linux lf conventions for text.
Then update the zip to include the new services.conf, and restore the config again. - jst3751AspirantNow you tell me. Sheesh. Mind reader you are not!
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserCorrect you are! Made this mistake myself I have.
- jst3751AspirantWorked and thanks. Wheh, another problem scratched off.
