It's possible convert a ReadyDR share to a normal share

HI,

It's possible convert a ReadyDR share - after deleting ReadyDR job - in a normal share?

This will be userful in case a failure of the first nas to put data online on the second nas

Thanks, Giuseppe

As anna_arun mentioned you would clone a snapshot of the ReadyDR share to a new share.

A ReadyDR share can't be converted to a normal share.

    Yes You can ...

Select the ReadyDR Share & Click Recover from Web GUI --- Select the Snapshot which you need --- Clone it with a New Share Name . Now You can Destroy or keep the ReadyDR Share . Cloned Share will be Intact .

You may have to Change the permissions accordingly for the New Cloned Share .

      Hi anna_arun,

I know this, but with this solution I lost all snapshot.

I need maintain all snapshot that are precious in the necessity of recovering a previuos state of file/folder.

        Hi cs_giuseppe,

I do not think its possible to make the snapshot a regular share.

I think anna_run is talking about the failover setup rather than the failback setup on the ReadyDR.

Failover means cloning a snapshot of the ReadyDR share on the backup ReadyNAS and redirecting traffic from production to the backup ReadyNAS. This requires additional configuration changes since all traffic that was originally destined for the production ReadyNAS doesn't currently go to the the backup ReadyNAS. If the production unit is offline, you could change the IP address on the backup unit to match the production units' address. This method will also require reconfiguring the share's network level permissions.
