iTunes. NV+ V2 4bay's
Hi all.
I just got my first NAS.
I read on the Netgear website about the device before I both it and noted it had a iTunes Server
but I can't find how to turn the iTunes server on the NAS.
Dose the NAS have iTunes Server as it says on the Netgear website?
pls help me to turn on the iTunes server.

- johntclintonAspirantJust another thought - this time for Netgear (on the heroic assumption that you are looking....)
Why, if an advertised feature can be toggled back on like this, is it switched off in the first place ?
Seems a little odd. Presumably there is a reason ?

Here you go: http://www.readynas.com/contributed/mdgm/addons/arm/ENABLEITUNESSERVER_1.0-arm.bin
Once you have installed this add-on you can go to http://ip.address.of.nas:3689 to configure the iTunes Server. - PafinAspirantWouah, many thanks !! It works very well !!!! I can now see my 19'000 mp3 in iTunes... but they aren't still available on my iPhone 4... do you know why !
Thanks once again for the good job ! - aksVirtuosoHow are you trying to view them on you iPhone? The built in Music player does not see an iTunes server, only iTunes on your desktop computer see them.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou would need a Firefly client. iTunes on your Mac is a Firefly client. Not sure if there is any app for iOS or not.

SSH access your nas box : add "DAAPD=1" in /etc/default/services - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf not comfortable with SSH install my add-on from the previous page in the thread. It will make that change.

OK, I tried this on my 4200 with current firmware and the message said "Update does not work with this architecture" . - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Of course it won't work on the 4200. /arm/ and -arm.bin -are strong hints that it is an add-on for the ARM platforms. Your 4200 is an x86 platform.0r0r0r wrote: mdgm wrote: chirpa wrote: mdgm, time for you to make an addon that does this :P

I understand, thanks for the info.
Now, is there an addon for the 4200?
