Jumbo frame MTU size in Duo v1?
Hi,
I'm trying to maximize the network speeds between 3 devices (PC, Duo_v1, Qnap NAS) connected to a Netgear GS108_v3 by matching the MTU size in their ethernet interface settings.
The MTU sizes supported by these devices are:
GS108_ver 3: up to 9,720 bytes
The PC: disabled (1500 i guess), 4088, 9014
Qnap: 1500, 4074, 7418, and 9000 bytes
Duo_ver1 running RAIDator 4.1.16: ??
What MTU values are supported by the Duo if I enable Jumbo Frames on it?
Thanks.
Aloke
9000 works.

PS: Frontview on the Duo is showing
Speed/Duplex mode: Auto-negotiated
MTU:7936 bytes (greyed out).
Jumbo Frames is enabled on the Duo.
So, these numbers are all over the place.
7936 (Duo),
1500, 4088, 9014 (PC Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V),
1500, 4074, 7418, and 9000 (Qnap)
GS108 is autonegotiated.
What value should I set these at?

9000 works.

I'm getting transfer rate of 94.5 MB/s for large video files (.m2ts) on a 1 GB/s link.
This is from the PC to the Qnap.
That's pretty good! Can I expect to do any better?
I might just leave things alone....- alokeprasadMentor
Changing MTU to 9000 upped the transfer speed to 115.5 MBps
