Laserjet 1300 attached to a Duo v1 (SPARC) w Windows 10?
HP provides a generic DOT4 USB driver that supports thsi printer when attached directly to a PC running Windows 10.
Anyone using this printer when attched to the USB port on the Duo (ver 1, SPARC) with Windows 10?
How did you set up the drivers in Win 10 to access the printer connected to the Duo?
Thanks.
Aloke

Hi alokeprasad,
This should work. If your printer has been added or listed on your ReadyNAS (steps found here on pages 25-26) as a USB network printer. Proceed with these steps below on how to add the NETGEAR USB printer on your Windows 10 PC.
-
Click the Windows Start button and click "Devices and Printers." Right click in the window that displays the devices and printers attached to your computer and select "Add a Printer." Choose "Add a Network, Wireless or Bluetooth Printer." Windows will search for all network printers and display them.
-
Click and highlight the printer attached to the ReadyNAS. This will be displayed as "\ReadyNAS-name\printer-name." For example, "\MYREADYNAS\Samsung CLP-610."
-
Click "Next." Windows will communicate with the printer and determine the correct printer driver to install. Click "Next." Windows will give your attached printer a name. You may change this name to anything you like or leave the default name.
-
Click "Next." Click the "Share This Printer So That Others on Your Network Can Find and Use It" radio button. On the next screen you will have the option to make the printer the default printer for your computer. You can also test the printer by clicking the "Print a Test Page" button at the bottom of the screen.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,

In case this step doesn't work correctly, can I add a LaserJet 1300 driver from HP's site (have disk option) and have it work with the printer attched to the NAS?

Hi alokeprasad,
Yes you may try that. Just post immediately the result so others can share their ideas if they have tried this already or has other solution to suggest.
Kind regards,
