Losing internet connection constantly

Firmware 6.4.0

ReadyNAS RN2120-100NAS

The scenario was that the volume was reporting near full but I was only using 1/8 of the available space.  I found that it was the Snapshot feature for each share, so I began to manually delete them.  Then I discovered that after every 10-20 deletions I had to go to the device and cycle the power because I'd lost network connectivity.  I'd read somewhere that it could be because I was logged in from two different locations (Via browsers) but logging out did not resolve the problem.  Now that I have all the snapshots deleted, the issue persists even when I'm not making any changes to the device.  The problem is not isolated to disconnectivity from the admin panel as pinging the device fails as well.

Visually, when the connectivity freezes, the Network lights for both NICs become and remain solid on both the front and rear of the device.  I have a partnered device that works just fine and, clearly, when the network is properly functioning, the LEDs should be blinking.

Has anyone been experiencing this problem?  I've had the device exactly 15 months so I'm a little dissappointed that it is just recently out of warranty.

    Hi houston1,

Can you check the network settings for each network adapter? Also confirm (if both are active or in use) if you are using NIC teaming in your ReadyNAS while its in production. Sending thecurrent device logs will also help.

    Kind regards,

      Thanks, Brian.

I just sent you the log files.  Regarding your question:  No, the nics are not teamed.  Eth0 is configured to accept backups from specific devices on our network while Eth1 is networked directly to the partnered RN2120.

While testing today, I have noticed that the Eth0 LED is solid, but I can still connect.  So I don't know what to make of the blinking or non-blinking of the LEDs.

I can see you have SSH enabled and have been running rsync from the shell. Do you lose connectivity after starting rsync from the shell or is the loss of connectivity unrelated to that?

You still have some snapshots in the backend that weren't upgraded when you updated to 6.2.x. They don't show in the UI but they are there.

The 2120 has a 5 year limited hardware warranty. You have not registered your unit yet. When did you purchase it? If your RN2120 was purchased on/after June 1, 2014 it would have lifetime chat support.
