missing 1Tb on Xraid2

if my math is correct for xraid2 I should be having 8Tb usable , 4 for parity and 1tb unusable.
I went from ~5.5Tb before the 3Tb was added, after it rebuild and all drives are green, it's reading that the 3Tb only have 2Tb allocated which is fine but should I be getting 8Tb or 7-ish TB?

- Is your volume redundant?
Have you tried a reboot? - yah it's two drive redundant. yup rebooted just now, still no love
- Wait 5-10 minutes and if expansion hasn't started reboot once more.
What volume capacity is shown in Frontview? - Capacity sees that it's 3Tb, with 2Tb allocated. Expansion finished an hour ago according to the log. My last reboot was 20 minutes ago
- What is the volume capacity not the disk capacity?
Perhaps post a screenshot of the Volumes page in Frontview? - sorry, juggling with the baby and the keyboard

Additional 10 GB reserved for snapshots - Try the second reboot. It can take a few reboots before expansion takes place.
- so in the last 2 hours, I must have did 8 reboots or so. no bueno why does NG make everything so damn difficult.
- Do you use disk spin-down? Can you disable that, if so?
- didn't even know OS 4 had disk spin down.
