Mountain Lion Compatibility
Is there any early word on Mountain Lion compatibility for the ReadyNAS models?

- sphardy1ApprenticeDlink routers have been reported to have this issue unless multicasting over wifi is specifically enabled in the settings.
- mchardsAspirantsphardy, I've got a Dlink DIR-825. I'll poke around in the settings. This isn't a problem in Snow Leopard--the wife's Mac Book Pro (still on SL) backs up fine over WiFi to the Duo.
FWIW, it looks like ML 10.8.2 is out today. I didn't see any mention of any AFP fixes but there was a SMB mention. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo give 10.8.2 a go anyway.
- ak72AspirantNo problems solved in 10.8.2. NAS disappeared from finder and time machine cannot find NAS. Only after rebooting Mac those works again (for some time).
- eriddlerAspirantOne night on 10.8.2 and it looks like it was able to reconnect AFP after sleep. Still running 4.1.8 also.

- mchardsAspirantAfter enabling multicast on the Dlink DIR-825 I sometimes get ReadyNAS connections over WiFi, sometimes not. I can connect to ReadyNAS shares via Connect to Server but Bonjour Browser (a little program that is useful in showing what Bonjour stuff your Mac can see (http://www.tildesoft.com)) does not show the ReadyNAS for either AFP or SMB. When all three instances appear in the Sidebar (things are working right), the ReadyNAS shows up in Bonjour Browser for AFP, SMB, iTunes Server, and some other categories. When things are not working and I mount a share via Connect to Server, the ReadyNAS shows only one instance in the Sidebar (no AFP or CIFS instances). Plus it appears in all small letters like namernd rather than like NameRND when things are working and there are three instances.
A MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard always gets ReadyNAS connections over WiFi so I'm not convinced that the router is the problem. I've also tried an old Netgear MR814 802.11b router as an access point and the "sometimes" behavior is the same. There seems to be some issue with Bonjour and wireless. I don't have any other wireless routers/access points to play with. Given the comments above, I'm not confident the 4.1.10 release or ML 10.8.2 are going to help, but I'll update those soon and see what happens. - eriddlerAspirant

Yep old firmware, that works just fine with 10.8.2. Not inclined to switch to 4.1.10 unless I know there aren't issues with AFP reconnect or share ownership...thanks. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf things are working fine for you on 4.1.8 then it'd be fine to stick with that for now. The ownership issue was fixed in the 4.1.10 betas and remains fixed. 4.1.10 should perform better than 4.1.8 and has updated AFP/Time Machine support compared with 4.1.8.
If you're having issues on old firmware I'd definitely recommend giving the update a try. - matteburyAspirantHas this version been tested on Mountain Lion? Don't want to update to ML until I know for sure 4.1.10 is compatible with ML.
BTW, I just updated to 4.1.10
