mounting my NAS drive on MacOS desktop

OK so I'm still trying to get this damn thing on to my desktop. IP addresses match (192.168.0.xxx) Raidar finds the drive and I can see it in a web browser but I NEED to get the drive onto the desktop so I can access it properly nit just contsantly having to dowload files so I can use them.

Anyone? I'm dying here. It's been months now.

TIA!

Cheers, Stephen

Are you saying you can't access the shares with Finder?

You should be able to access the C drive on the the Mac using SMB and the NAS admin credentials.  That only works if you've changed the admin password from the factory default.

  • If I understand the question, then here is what I would do.

    1.  Finder > Go > Connect to Server > Server Address: “smb://192.168.0.xxx/data[/sharename]” (without quotation marks and with share name substituted for sharename in brackets if you want a specific share). Click plus sign to save as a Favorite Server.

    2.  Finder > Preferences > check “Connected Servers,” which should show the share on the Desktop.

    3.  🍎 > System Preferences > Users & Groups > Click the lock to make changes [and log in] > Login Items > [click “+” symbol] > [navigate to share and] Add > Click the lock to prevent further changes > Quit System Preferences.

Share should be loaded at startup and login (3 after 1+2) and appear on Desktop (1+2).
