My Belkin UPS in not on the list

I have a Belkin F6S600auUSB UPS and it not on the compatibility list. What may happen if I use this UPS?

Cheers.

Probably the biggest risk is that the power management signalling might not work (meaning that the NAS won't gracefully shutdown when the UPS battery runs out).

It's easy enough to test this, just unplug the UPS and wait.
  • I would add you may want to plug the NAS into a wall outlet and then unplug the UPS so when it does power down if your NAS hasn't it will still have good power.

Good idea. Though you do need to have the UPS power something, otherwise the battery won't run down.
  • Thanks guys I will run some tests. I also have to figure out how to get the NAS to see the UPS...

Although I haven't unplugged the UPS yet, frontview doesn't see the UPS. So I'm assuming it ain't going to work. I have loaded on the UPS software too, and I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do.

Normally all you do is plug the USB connector on the UPS into one of the NAS USB ports. The PC software isn't relevant.

No point in unplugging if Frontview doesn't see the UPS.
  • Yep thats what I did. So I guess this UPS is useless to me? This model should go on the list then...
