NAS 314 + mv_xor_status+88

Hello,

After inserting a 4th disk in the bay, it started to resync the data. But now it is showing "mv_xor_status+88" on the display.

I can't do anything on the webpage. Just "Set up a new ReadyNAS".

What is the proper procedure to get this going? The firmware is unknown but not the latest. I updated the firmware a couple of months ago.

(I've read here that you are supposed to remove the 4th disk and reboot, is that correct?)

Thanks,

Nils

RAIDar should show the firmware version, but you will probably need to reboot to check.

Is this really a RN314 or is it a RN104?

I wonder if you are running 6.5.1

Normally this shows up in the RN104, not the RN314.

There was a fix in 6.5.2 firmware (though it does specify the RN104).  RAIDar should tell you the firmware you are running ( http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/~/readynas-downloads#raidar ).  You could also try https://nas-ip-address/fwbroker

It's concerning that you are getting the start-up wizard. Have you tried accessing the data with file explorer or finder?

You might need to try forcibly powering down the NAS, removing disk 4 and then rebooting.  Or if you purchased your RN314 new between 1 June 2014 and 31 May 2016, you could use your lifetime chat support at my.netgear.com.

  • Sorry...My wrong... It is a ReadyNAS 104...

So the only thing I can do is to power down and remove the new disk (No. 4) and hope that the 3 other rebuilds the data?

  • I'm not really sure about this but I restarted my PC and then the page at "https://192.168.10.137/admin/" showed me version 6.50,
then it tries to connect to the ReadyNAS admin page which results in a page stating that the admin page is offline.

Ok, thank you for letting me know.

I took the 4th disk out and rebooted and the NAS is now DEGRADED and is recyncing.

I guess I have to wait for the recync to finnish before I can upgrade???
