Netgear Duo v2 stopped sending alert messages
My Duo is configured to send email alerts via mail when a backup is complete or the system has a problem.
The emails have suddenly stopped and when I try and send a test message I get a message that the smtp server cannot be contacted. Looking at the settings the email address is correct and the SMTP server is smtp.gmail.com, smtp port is 587 which I presume is correct because I all supplied in the original setup was username (email address) and password).
I don't think my router is blocking it (its an ASUS RT-68U) as its set to allow all outbound traffic.
The advanced settings in the duo are all greyed out.
Can anyone suggest please how I get alerts back online please?

- chirpaLuminaryDHCP or Static IP setup? If Static, verify DNS and Gateway are valid.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced Userif you have ssh installed, try pinging smtp.gmail.com from the duo. That is one way to verify the DNS and gateway configuration.
- tomg35AspirantHi, its dhcp setup - how do I ping from the control panel?

You can't. You need ssh installedtomg35 wrote: Hi, its dhcp setup - how do I ping from the control panel?
Maybe try "check for update", and see if it connects to the internet update server. - tomg35AspirantI'll give that a try
- tomg35AspirantI tried the update button and didn't get any error messages. I tried dropping the firewall as well but still couldn't get the Duo to send a test message.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you didn't get an error, then it seems to me that your NAS is properly configured for the internet.
What firmware are you running? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you using two-factor authentication for your gmail account? If so you will need an App Password for the ReadyNAS.
- tomg35AspirantStephenB - 5.3.10
mdgm - No I'm not using two-factor authentication
Is there a way to delete the gmail account and re-enter it? - tomg35AspirantHi
Any suggestions as to what I can do please?
