There are several possible causes for the inactive volumes message:
- multiple failed disks
- loss of sync for the RAID (mdadm)
- errors in the BTRFS file system
If you can connect the disks to a Windows PC, then I suggest doing that first. Then test them with the extended test using vendor tools (Seatools for Seagate; Dashboard for WDC). Power down the NAS before removing the disks, and label them by slot number as you remove them.
