I just went through the set up process on my new 102 there was an update of the firmware in the process. It's now 6.22 I can browse to the default shares via http readyclould I can connect to...

Is HOMEGROUP also the workgroup name used by your Win7 PC? If not, then try setting the workgroup field to match your win7 workgroup. Also, you might try resetting permissions on a share (which will result in allowing full read/write guest access).
EskernderNG is not suggesting that you use RAIDar for setup. He just wants to know if RAIDar will find the NAS. RAIDar is a local tool that can discover your NAS and report some useful data. It won't tell you as much with OS6 as it does with OS4 or OS5, but it does work, and can be useful.
If you uninstall readycloud on the win8 system, are you able to access the shares locally?
