Network share access - windows 8

I just went through the set up process on my new 102
there was an update of the firmware in the process. It's now 6.22

I can browse to the default shares via http readyclould

I can connect to the default shares via windows 7 - but not via windows 8

I log onto windows 8 using a MS online account

When I try to network browse to \\readynas I am prompted for password but neither admin or the user i created (matching the w7 user) work. I get a network error message

Windows cannot access \\readynas
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try and identify and resolve network problems, click diagnose.

Error code: 0x80004005
Unspecified error

.. I can also see the readynas via dlna as a network place.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated

  • On a side note, when I connect to https://192.168.0.19/admin/

I get a warming that the SSL certificate is invalid. I have been ignoring this - could it be related?
  • Hi All

I did a factory reset and set up again... looks like I am up and running

    Many thanks for your help.

No idea what I did last time - as far as I can tell - nothing different.
