There are some players that do support 3D BluRay ISO playback, the mede8er MED1000X3D appears to be one of them.
3D BluRay uses the MVC profile of H.264 - which maintains full resolution and frame rate (and requires HDMI 1.4 cables). So you should not list MVC as a format that loses resolution.
Side by Side, and Top / Bottom do lose resolution (either half the horizontal, or half the vertical).
