no acces admin page
Hi all, since a week or two i cannot acces the admin page through a browser. No matter wich browser, Chrome, IE or firefox, they all dont work. When i try to log in i come as far as the loginpage whe...
Hi all, after performing the advices i got here, i still could not acces the admin page. There was not much more to do then a total factory reset after a backup from the data. I changed the network cable and did a factory reset and hey..i finally could acces the admin page again. Probably there has been a corruption in a config file of the NAS. All thanx for the replies and i consider this as solved
Browsers give warnings on the ReadyNAS certificate because it is self-signed (instead of coming from a certificate authority). So the browser can't authenticate (e.g., verify) that certificate. That's a big deal if the certificate is linked to a company (you really want to know that when you browse to your banking site that you are really connected to your bank), but not that important when accessing a NAS on a local network.
Retired_Member's procedure is specific to FireFox, and is a good way of permanently eliminating the click-through warning. Chrome will give you an "advanced" control on the warning page - you need to click on that, and then choose to continue to the website. Most other browsers give you a similar control to Chrome.
Chrome will remember that click-through for a while, so you don't have to re-do it every single time you access the web ui.
Note that the connection is encrypted, it's only insecure because the browser can't authenticate the certificate.
Hai Stephen, for your solution in Chrome its the same, its excactly the procedure you said, but when i click on "continue to website" then it does not go further. Also in Chrome i have added the certificate to the trusted certificates but no succes either.

Normally the first step is a pop-up that lets you enter the credentials. Do you have an ad blocker plugin enabled? If so, try disabling it.
Even without an ad blocker, you might need to explicitly enable pop-ups for the site. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95472?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
Sometimes something goes wrong with the ReadyNAS web server, but it's good to rule out browser issues before tackling that.
I disabled the pop up blocker in chrome, but still does not work, after i get the admin login, i put in admin and after that my password and then it still shows me a blank page with in the adress "not safe |https://192.168.1.130/admin/ " where the https has a line through it.
