No Disk Detected Bay 2

Just purchased 4 new WD 3TB Red.

No matter which drive I put in bay 2, it is not detected.

At boot, when power light is flashing quickly, all drive lights are on.

Then when power light flashes slowly, drive 2 light goes off.

It stays like this in normal operation and functions as a 3 drive NAS.

Latest OS.

What can I do?

  • It sounds like a failed SATA channel in the chassis.

The "fix" is to get an new NAS.  The warranty is 3 years for the original purchaser - if that's you, arrange for an RMA at my.netgear.com.

If you haven't registered the NAS there, you'll have to do that first.  It'll be faster if you upload proof of purchase before you click on the "replace my defective product" link.

Still under warranty and registered but cannot get through to Netgear Storage Support. Calling system just says call back later.

I've had my RMA for over 7 days now. How long does it take before the courier comes and swaps the unit over?

        Hello Pengo429,

How long would it take for the RMA process will depend on what option selected when the replacement was process.
