No network link [RND4000]

It's unfortunate that you don't remember the RAID mode. You might have flex-raid with two RAID-1 volumes.
If so, wou can try installing R-linux for windows on a windows PC ( http://www.r-tt.com/free_linux_recovery/ ). Power down the NAS, and connect disk 1 to the windows PC (either using a USB adapter kit, or connecting the disk to the PC's internal SATA). Then see if R-linux can read it.
Another option is get a new ReadyNAS (perhaps an RN214 or RN414). Netgear support can help you mount the old NAS volume(s) so you can offload the data. More information is here: https://kb.netgear.com/29876/ReadyNAS-Migrating-disks-from-RAIDiator-4-1-or-RAIDiator-5-3-to-ReadyNAS-OS-6
Given the age of your disks, I suggest getting new ones with a new NAS. WDC Red or Seagate Ironwolf would be good choices
